How can we help?

Plain-language guides for store owners. Most galleries go live in about fifteen minutes.

Getting started

What Lookloom does

Shoppable galleries and lookbooks for your Shopify store.

Lookloom turns photos and videos into galleries shoppers can buy from. You tag products on an image with small pins called hotspots. A shopper taps a pin, sees the product card, and adds it to the cart without leaving the page.

Galleries are built in the Lookloom admin and placed on any Online Store 2.0 theme with an app block. Once published, a gallery is shown from your own store data, so it does not wait on our servers to load.

Quick start: your first gallery live

The four things to do after installing, in order.

The Home page shows a setup checklist that follows these steps.

  1. Open Galleries and choose Create gallery. Pick a starting point, name it and add images.
  2. Open the Hotspots tab and tap an image to place a pin on a product.
  3. Choose Publish. Publishing makes the gallery available to your theme.
  4. In the theme editor, add the Lookloom gallery block to a page and pick your published gallery.

Building galleries

Add images, videos, products or a collection

Four ways to fill a gallery.

A gallery can be built from images you upload, from Shopify Files you already have, from the images of one product, or from a whole collection. Product and collection sources need the Starter plan or higher.

Videos can be added as a link or uploaded, on plans that include video. A video shows a lightweight preview first and loads the player only when a shopper taps it.

  1. Open your gallery and go to the Media tab.
  2. Upload files, choose from Shopify Files, or paste a video link.
  3. Use Details on any tile to add alt text, a caption or labels.

Tag products with hotspots

Place pins on images and link each to a product.

A hotspot is a pin on an image linked to one product. Shoppers hover or tap it to see the product card and add to cart. Pin positions are stored as exact percentages of the image, so they stay put on every screen size.

To tag many images quickly, use Suggest products for all images. Lookloom proposes products for each image and you accept or change them before anything is saved.

  1. Open the Hotspots tab and select an image.
  2. Tap the spot on the image where the product appears.
  3. Pick the product. Repeat for every product in the image.

Layouts and appearance

Choose how the gallery looks on your store.

Five layouts are available. Change the layout in the gallery's Preview tab and see it update at once. Store-wide defaults such as pin colour, card style and the gap between images live in Settings.

Custom CSS is available on the Growth plan and above.

Going live

Publish a gallery

What publishing does and how to change a live gallery.

Publishing copies your gallery to your store in one step. Shoppers never see a half-updated gallery. After you change a live gallery, publish again to show the changes.

If your plan allows fewer galleries than you have published, the extra ones are paused until you upgrade or unpublish others.

Place a gallery on your theme

Add the Lookloom gallery block in the theme editor.

Lookloom works with any Online Store 2.0 theme. It does not edit your theme files; you add the block yourself in the theme editor.

  1. In Shopify, open Online Store, then Themes, then Customize.
  2. Open the page where the gallery should appear and choose Add block.
  3. Under Apps, choose Lookloom gallery.
  4. Select your published gallery in the block settings and Save.

Schedule a gallery

Set a start and end date for a campaign.

In the gallery's Preview tab, set a start date, an end date or both. Dates use UTC and the end date is included. Lookloom switches the gallery on and off for you; the change can take up to the next scheduled run.

Instagram

Import posts from your Instagram account.

Connect Instagram on the Instagram page to import posts into a gallery. Turn on auto publish to put new posts live when the gallery is already published.

Plans and data

Analytics

Views, hotspot clicks, add to carts and revenue.

The Analytics page shows views, hotspot clicks and add to carts per gallery, a daily chart and a funnel. How far back you can look depends on your plan. CSV export and revenue attribution are on the Growth plan and above.

Lookloom stores daily totals per gallery only. It does not store customer data.

Plans and billing

What each plan includes and how billing works.

Every plan includes the core features. Plans differ in limits: number of published galleries, items per gallery, analytics history, and extras like CSV export. Paid plans work on Shopify Plus stores too.

Compare plans and start your free trial on the Plans and billing page. The trial is available once per store. Charges go through your Shopify bill and you can change or cancel any time.

What data Lookloom keeps

No customer data is stored.

Lookloom asks for narrow permissions. It does not read your customers or orders and it does not edit your theme. Analytics are daily totals per gallery with no personal data.

If you uninstall, your gallery data is removed under Shopify's standard data deletion process.

Questions

My gallery is not showing on my store

The usual reasons, in order.

Check these in order:

  1. The gallery status is Published (not Draft or Paused).
  2. The Lookloom gallery block is on the page and a gallery is selected in its settings.
  3. You saved the theme after adding the block.
  4. The gallery has at least one image with a hotspot, and is not outside its scheduled dates.

Why does it say my gallery is paused?

You have more published galleries than your plan allows.

Your plan allows a set number of published galleries. After a downgrade, galleries over the limit are paused so your store keeps working. Upgrade, or unpublish others, and republish the paused one.

Can I use video?

Yes, on Starter and above.

Video is included from the Starter plan. Add a video link or upload a file in the Media tab.

Does the shopper stay on the page when they add to cart?

Yes.

Shoppers pick a variant and add to cart from the product card without leaving the page. The card can show a sale tag and an Only a few left notice.

What happens if I uninstall Lookloom?

Galleries stop showing and your data is removed.

Galleries stop showing on your store. Remove the Lookloom gallery block from your theme to clear empty space. Your data is deleted under Shopify's standard process.
